Northwood Community Arts is delighted to announce that it has been awarded National Lottery funding through Big Lottery Fund.

Working in partnership with Northwood Young People’s Centre in Hallowell Road, Northwood Community Arts will use the funds to create an exciting new programme of workshops for young people. The programme will encourage development of new life skills over a series of three terms of workshops which will explore mixed media including dance, music production and performance.

The programme, which will commence in late February, will offer exciting new opportunities to young people in Northwood to be involved in creative activities enabling them to enhance and develop essential (new life) skills that will be transferable to other areas of their lives. This opportunity will be open to all young people in Northwood. Project management for the programme will be provided by ArtReach www.artreach.biz

“We are delighted to be able to share this new programme with Northwood Young Peoples Centre and to be involved with the Young People of Northwood such a very positive way – the facilities at the Youth Centre in Hallowell Road are exceptional and thanks to Big Lottery Fund this programme will provide a fantastic learning opportunity for youngsters that would not otherwise be in a position to benefit from it.” Alistair Todd – chair of Northwood Community Arts
